The Path Ahead

This piece took me a really... really long time to finish... is it even finished? It's not without it's obvious problems, but it's special to me because of the amount of suffering it put me through haha. I think these really difficult paintings, the ones that fight you the whole way but have some quality about them, something personal that pushes you forward, are the ones that teach you the most... Even if the lesson is as simple as, don't quit.
Has anyone else out there had a similar experience with a particularly difficult personal piece?
